Cinema Hostel Jerusalem is a new, young, cinema-themed travelers hostel located in the very center of Jerusalem. Built inside the legendary old Orion Cinema, the hostel creates a warm environment in the heart of Jerusalem, on a backdrop of your favorite classic films.

The hostel is ideally located next to the triangle of Ben Yehuda, King George, and Jaffa Street, so you’re close to all the city’s main landmarks and sites The Cinema Hostel also offers tours and activities, so you’re always around friends! From Jam session and movie nights to pub crawl, we’re always rolling.
The hostel includes a dormitory, and private rooms, each one of them is themed on a different movie.

The old Orion Cinema was housing classic, controversial, and independent films, and stood on the frontline of Israeli culture all through the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s.
The building’s classic Jerusalem stone and impressive dome structure was offset by an interior inspired by the Radio City Music Hall.
By the 80s cinema in Jerusalem saw a decline, and the beautiful Orion building lay abandoned for 25 years.

When two young entrepreneurs found the Orion building, they were keen to bring it a new life.

In 2018, after a complete overhaul, the Orion once again opened its doors to the public. This time as the Cinema Hostel Jerusalem, a unique and affordable home away from home in the heart of Jerusalem.

The hostel’s John Smith cocktail bar, with its 20’s style-inspired decor, is an old-new and fresh experience in Jerusalem’s nightlife. The cinema concept comes into play in the design, atmosphere, and service of food and drinks. The bar offers a special discount for hostel guests!

The hostel’s terrace, overlooking Ben-Yehuda pedestrian street, hosts parties, fairs, and other special events during spring and summer months.
