Odem Forest reserve in the Golan heights is a stunning encounter with nature, with vineyards, apple and cherry orchards, deer that wander around freely, breath-taking landscapes, refreshing water pools and thick forests.

In a small village, up on Odem mountain, surrounded with all shapes of green (nature) and  red (volcanic), the Golan Heights Hostel is simply love at first sight, another home for you on the globe. Buzzing with travelers from around the world, it is quite common to come here for a day and stay for weeks. With perfect access to the many hiking trails from our front door, we also make a great base for outdoor activities – Cycling, Horse riding, ATV tours, and in season rappelling and rafting.

The hostel seems to attract a certain type of traveler – social, fun, respectful and adventurous with a love for the natural beauty that the area provide.

Plan Your Trip

The nearest town is Kiryat Shmona and there are buses going there from most big cities in Israel.

From Kiryat Shmona take lines 55 or 58 – two of the most beautiful routes in the Golan heights. Climb all the way to the foot of mt. Hermon, and through the authentic Druze villages. one hour of stunning views so stay awake… the bus stop in Odem village just in front of the hostel.

Use any map of Israel to drive north towards Rosh Pina (on the way to Kiryat Shmona). 3.5 km after Rosh Pina and the big outlet (on road 90), turn right at Mahanaim junction, look for the signs for ‘Ein Zivan’. continue on this road (91) 23 km and turn left to ‘Masade’ (road 978). keep driving on this road, straight on Wasset roundabout, enjoy the forest by day, drive slowly by night, all the way to Odem junction – turn right. welcome to Odem and the Golan Heights Hostel.

Hitchhiking:
It is very common and safe to hitchhike around here. The junctions names you should know (farthest to nearest with the distance from Odem) – Mahanaim junc. (43 km), Nashut junc. (28 km), Hashiryon (Nafah) junc. (20 km) Wasset junc. (11 km), Odem junc. (2 km from the hostel).
