“Iftah ya simsim” is Arabic and means “open sesame”.
You will have this feeling when you enter simsim guesthouse, the garden courtyard, the rooftop terrace and the 5 rooms. Each is unique, with its own character, from romantic private spaces with en suite bathrooms, to economical family rooms with shared bath facilities. The building is one of the oldest in the area, the home to the first Mayor of Nazareth who acted in that capacity from 1875 to 1884.
The dormitories are next to the guesthouse in simsim backpackers. Designed for budgeted travelers the rooms are in a colorful renovated, still authentic 19th century atmosphere.
At the simsim you will be in the centre of the old city of Nazareth within easy walking distance of many of the religious sites the city is known for, including the Basilica of Annunciation, the Orthodox Annunciation church and the White Mosque.
Sami, the owner and manager of simsim guesthouse and simsim backpackers, is a local from Nazareth giving him a wealth of knowledge about the community. Drive to the Mary’s Well area. Follow the directions at Al-Mutran’s Square, as mentioned above. Park your car there and continue walking into the Old City.
